Man Who Left 49ers Game To Go To Bathroom Found Dead Near Stadium
A man who disappeared during the fourth quarter of a San Francisco 49ers game has been found dead by police.
Ian Powers, 32, had last been seen at the 49ers-New York Giants game at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Nov. 12. He left his seat in the fourth quarter to use the bathroom, reports say.
According to KNTV in San Jose, surveillance video showed the Spokane, Washington resident walking out of Levi’s Stadium, looking at his cell phone.
He was apparently trying to call his girlfriend, who had been at the game with him. Powers was trying to figure out how to get to his car but his cell phone reportedly died, according to KNTV.

His girlfriend was reportedly waiting in his car a few blocks away but Powers never made it there.
Police were notified the next day and told that Powers was missing.
Powers’ vehicle was found where he parked it near the stadium. There were no signs of foul play.
On Nov. 17, police found his body in the waters near the Alviso Marina in San Jose, according to a release from the City of Santa Clara.
“A group of duck hunters reported seeing a body lying face down in the low-tide water approximately one mile north of the Alviso Marina boat ramp. Rescue divers from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded and assisted the Coroner’s Office in recovering the body,” the release said.
The city coroner’s office determined that the cause of death was salt water drowning.
“The manner of death has been ruled an accident,” the city said in a release. The investigation is now closed.
