Report: When McCabe Messed Up, Trump Called Him and Insulted His Wife

Share

Andrew McCabe probably isn’t very high on Donald Trump’s Christmas card list. But when one conspires to illegally remove a constitutionally elected president, that sort of thing happens.

With that said, insulting a man’s wife is not something to do lightly. But it’s a fair bet that President Trump’s supposed phone call with McCabe certainly got his attention.

Allegedly, when President Trump exercised his authority as chief executive of the United States and lawfully dismissed the now ex-Director of the FBI James Comey, Trump supposedly had a rather fiery phone call with (still technically) the Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe.

Just a word of caution: The primary source documentation for this is NBC.

With that in mind, it may be worth noting that the more discerning news junkie does view anything emanating from NBC with perhaps more than just a bit of a jaundiced eye.

According to NBC News, Trump told McCabe that he should ask his wife how it felt to be a loser after she lost a political office bid in Virginia.

“Trump made the remarks in a phone call to McCabe the day he fired FBI Director James Comey that was placed to demand why Comey was allowed to fly on a FBI plane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., after being fired,” NBC News reported.

The report continued, “The president was silent for a moment and then turned on McCabe, suggesting he ask his wife how it feels to be a loser — an apparent reference to a failed campaign for state office in Virginia that McCabe’s wife made in 2015.”

Well, if that isn’t a Scooby-Doo ruh-roh moment, I don’t know what is.

Are you glad President Trump is taking on the swamp?

The president’s purported comments regarding McCabe’s “loser” wife, were also covered in a first rate report from the Daily Caller.

Suffice it to say that the White House director of legislative affairs, Marc Short, who was central to the article, completely dissected both NBC and their version of what real journalism is.

“I think there is a lot of concern about the person (McCabe) leading the investigation, whose wife was receiving $700,000 in political donations from the Clinton’s closest friends. I think those are concerns that people have,” Short said, as reported by The Daily Caller.

The Daily Caller previously noted that McCabe’s wife, Dr. Jill McCabe, received a whopping $675,000 from a Democrat-friendly political action committees linked to longtime Clinton ally, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, while she ran for a Virginia state Senate seat. The donation was in vain, though, since it was a contest she lost despite the massive influx of cash.

Regardless of whether this phone call happened as NBC reported, it’s clear President Trump has no qualms about taking on the swap, by whatever means necessary.
