Tim Tebow Reminds Us God Has a Plan & Purpose: 'What Season Are You in Right Now?'
In addition to his career as an athlete, television personality and his philanthropic activities, Tim Tebow often takes the time to encourage his social media followers by sharing some uplifting thoughts online.
Tebow, 31, just started his third season of playing minor league baseball, hoping he can improve his playing enough to be called up into the major league.
According to The Washington Post, Tebow is well aware of the stiff competition he faces, but is committed to weathering life in the minor leagues regardless of the outcome.
Tebow is in the throes of a season of life that is filled with non-stop discipline, hard work, patience and trusting God with the outcome.
He goes to work every day knowing that God has a purpose for his life, and shared his thoughts about the seasons of sowing and reaping on his Instagram account:
“What season are you in right now? Is it a season of reaping or sowing … know that God has a plan and purpose for you,” Tebow captioned the video. “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9.”
“I think that we all go through seasons in our lives,” Tebow said, “and I just want to encourage you that the season isn’t meaningless and it’s not wasted, that there’s a purpose and a plan for it.”
Not every season is going to be fun and pain-free, rather, many seasons are going to be really tough.
“But God has a plan in that,” Tebow said.
“And it might not be the season of reaping but it might be the season of sowing.”
“And sowing in your own heart so that one day you’re ready for that season of reaping, and you’re ready when God opens those doors for you,” Tebow said.
Seasons that are painful and seemingly endless are a great opportunity to trust God and allow him to sow the seeds that will produce hearts that are stronger, more compassionate and able to withstand suffering.
Tebow encouraged his followers to trust God, because he has a plan for everyone.
While Tebow has always dreamed of playing major league baseball, he does not seem to be obsessed with making the team nor does he seem fearful of what may happen if he does not.
Rather, he is committed to living out the Bible verse he quoted — Galatians 6:9 — doing his best every day, working his hardest, putting in the extra hours and leaving the results in God’s hands.
