Vegas Golden Knights post viral photo of star goaltender with 'Bark-Andre Fleury'

Hockey fans know all about the star goaltender of the expansion Las Vegas Knights, Marc-Andre Fleury, but have they met team mascot Bark-Andre Fleury?

Bark-Andre was recently introduced to the world in a viral photo posted to Twitter.

“Mark-Andre Fleury, please meet Bark-Andre Fleury,” the Golden Knights’ post reads.

He’s even got his own uniform.

Maybe Bark-Andre has been the inspiration for the Golden Knights in their unprecedented run in the 2018 playoffs.

In just their first year in existence, the Golden Knights have advanced to the Western Conference Finals, where they will take on the Winnipeg Jets.

Winnipeg took out the team that had the most points during the regular season, the Nashville Predators, in seven games.

Is this the cutest photo of a dog that you've ever seen?

Game 1 of the conference finals is set for Saturday night in Winnipeg.

No one really expected much out of the expansion team from Las Vegas before the season started. Most projections had them at the bottom of the Pacific Division.

But then they went on to win their division with 109 total points.

In the playoffs, the Knights swept the Los Angeles Kings in the first round and dispatched of the San Jose Sharks four games to two in the second round.

No expansion team in the history of American sports has even come close to achieving the success that Las Vegas has enjoyed.

Previously, the 1993-94 Florida Panthers were the most successful NHL expansion team with 83 points, but they didn’t even make the playoffs. In the other three major sports, only the 1995 Carolina Panthers were halfway decent in their first year, as they finished 7-9.

Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, has been the hottest goaltender in this year’s postseason. He’s been in net for all eight of his team’s victories and leads all playoff goalies in goals against average (1.53) and save percentage (0.951 percent).

As for Bark-Andre, he’ll be cheering — or should we say barking — his team on.
