Violent Tolerance: Bloodied Trump Fan Says Rock Singer Beat Him During Concert

Share

The idea that liberals actually stand for tolerance or diversity of opinions is becoming a bit of a running joke.

Whether it’s powerful corporations “shadow banning” voices they dislike or elected officials telling supporters to corner and confront conservatives in public, 2018 is getting ugly … and much of it seems to be coming from the left.

Yet another example of just how intolerant — and increasingly violent — American politics has become just occurred in California.

A man named Tim Hildebrand, who supports President Trump, has alleged that he was assaulted and bloodied at a music concert … and the evidence appears to back his story up.

“A supporter of President Trump’s claimed he was viciously pummeled by Mike Ness – lead singer of the iconic punk band Social Distortion – during a concert in Northern California,” reported the New York Post.

“Tim Hildebrand said he suffered two black eyes, a busted lip and concussion at the hands of Ness during a Social Distortion show,” the newspaper continued.

The concertgoer has been upfront about the fact that he had a problem with the singer’s anti-Trump rant on stage. However, he says that he didn’t initiate any violence, but rather exercised free speech.

“I pretty much said I paid for your music, not your politics,” Hildebrand said. “I stood pretty much with my silent protest with my middle finger up for the next two songs.”

Do you believe this fan's side of the story?

That’s not exactly perfect behavior, but neither is it particularly aggressive. It was a hardcore rock concert, after all — and it wasn’t that long ago that the left was hurriedly defending the right for people to flip off the president.

According to The Post and corroborating cell phone video, the band member motioned for the paying customer to come toward the stage, then spit on him and attacked him.

“(Ness) takes his guitar off, jumps off the stage and proceeds to punch me multiple times in the head,” said the ticket holder.

“I wasn’t able to defend myself because people in the crowd were holding me back,” he stated.

If responses from liberals are any sign, it looks like the left has abandoned any pretense about non-violence it once held.

Let’s be clear: A punk rock concert is not the place you go when you want tranquility. Yes, it’s true that the situation could have been avoided, but flip the scenario around and consider it.

It’s pretty hard to imagine a pro-Trump musician — Ted Nugent or Kid Rock, for instance — personally assaulting a fan who had paid to enter the concert. It wasn’t that long ago that liberals preached that violence wasn’t the answer.

It seems those days are long gone.
