Watch: The Jaw-Dropping Moment NBC Anchor Cheers for Idea of Military Ignoring Trump

Some people on the left are not happy to see President Donald Trump bring our troops home from Syria, and one MSNBC host even expressed joy at the possibility that the military would ignore Trump.

On Wednesday, the president announced that U.S. troops are no longer needed in the Syrian conflict that began under former President Barack Obama.

“We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency,” Trump tweeted.

In a series of tweets early Thursday morning, he further explained the reasons behind the Syria exit.

“Does the USA want to be the Policeman of the Middle East, getting NOTHING but spending precious lives and trillions of dollars protecting others who, in almost all cases, do not appreciate what we are doing? Do we want to be there forever?” Trump tweeted.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace discussed the president’s move Wednesday night on “Deadline: White House.”

Wallace latched on to the idea that the military might defy Trump.

“Is he someone — is the Pentagon — you’re basically describing a U.S. military that does not listen to the commander in chief. Is that what’s going on?” she asked her guest, Defense One executive editor Kevin Baron.

“Well, no, I don’t think that they don’t listen to him. I think that they try to prepare for the unexpected,” Baron said before Wallace cut him off.

That answer should have been obvious. Trump has been strengthening the military and correcting Obama’s mistakes.

Is the left's rhetoric becoming too extreme?

Some people in the military clearly disagree with the president’s decision to bring the troops home, but surely most of those serving in Syria are happy they’ll be able to see their families.

Wallace then said she would be “cheered” if the military decided to openly defy Trump.

“To their credit, I’m cheered if you’re telling me that the military doesn’t listen to him,” Wallace said.

That’s an absolutely irresponsible thing to say. It should go without saying that the military ought to listen to the commander in chief.

Imagine a wandering high-tech military that doesn’t take orders from the elected leader of the United States. That sounds like a dystopian nightmare.

There’s not even a good reason to think the military should ignore Trump.

Those on the left have tried everything to undermine Trump. What’s next, calling for an outright military coup?
