Oh, Campus Reform. If it weren’t for you documenting how far the liberal double-standard goes on college campuses, would we even know about it?
Your favorite campus video interviewers are back, this time at the University of California-Santa Cruz. Now that President Donald Trump is being mentioned as a candidate for a Nobel Peace Prize given the potential for peace in North Korea, Campus Reform wanted to know whether this generation of students thinks he deserves it.
You probably won’t be surprised to find out that most students said “no,” with one saying that it was “just too good of a prize for him to have credit for.”
However, that student thought that President Obama deserved it in 2009 — as, again, did most of the others.
The question practically asked itself, then: What did Barack Obama do to earn the Peace Prize?
As you can imagine, the answers were decidedly hilarious.
“Was it for his education, uh, push on education, or was it for the Obamacare?” the student quoted above asked.
First, I hope she’s not studying English. Second, I don’t know what the “push on education was,” but if it’s Common Core, much like “the Obamacare,” it wasn’t enacted until 2010.
Another student who said “Hell no, what has he done for peace?” to the prospect of Trump winning the award was similarly enthusiastic about Obama’s Peace Prize.
But as for what Obama did for peace? “Well … … (crickets) pfft. There’s much to talk about.” That’s when he turned to his friend and pleaded, “Give me some examples, Bob. Nothing pops up in my head right now.”
Keep in mind that while watching the video, I and most other viewers would probably be willing to give these students credit for anything worthy of receiving a Nobel that happened during Obama’s tenure in office, even though when he won it in 2009 he’d done virtually zilch in terms of world peace, to say nothing of much else. (He received the award “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” for those of you who were curious.)
Yet none of Obama’s wonderful achievements seemed to pop up in the heads of these poor students.
That’s probably because there was nothing worth mentioning. Iraq was a mess when Obama came into office. It was worse when he left. Iran was a mess when he came into office. It was worse when he left. North Korea was a mess when he came into office. It was worse when he left. Libya…
You get the idea. Trump, meanwhile, may be able to make peace with North Korea, a monumental accomplishment Obama never broached. If there’s anything that’s Nobel material, that should probably be it.
At least there was one student who, despite his support of Obama, seemed to get the problem.
“I think if Obama won it why wouldn’t (Trump) win it, right?” the student said. “‘Cause I don’t know why Obama won it. I mean, I like Obama, but I don’t think there’s any real legitimate reason why he should have won it.”
At least there’s one sensible young man out California way. Watch him get kicked out of class after Campus Reform’s video gets out.
