Age 5 Boy with Rare Kidney Disease Just Wants to Help His Neighbors

Share

Some people love them and simply cannot imagine a world without lot of them in it. Others may find them to be a bit annoying or even a little more than they wish to deal with.

Regardless, kids do tend to have a way of proving to be sources of fun and inspiration.

Whether they are “saying the darnedest things” or setting an amazing example in courage and creativity, their impact on the world, despite their diminutive size, is gargantuan.

One such pint-sized inspiration is 5-year-old Karson Taylor. Karson has a rare kidney disease and recently got home from a stay at the hospital.

After being cooped up in a hospital, it is understandable that a child would want to go outside, especially if there is snow to play in.

Karson could have asked to build a snowman or go sledding.

He could have wanted to spend time with friends. Karson could have chosen any number of things to do for himself after being ill and cooped up.

His mom, Kim, told ABC 13 that instead of those things, her little boy picked up a shovel and went to work. All he wanted to do was shovel snow for neighbors.

The ABC 13 broadcast area had experienced a lot of snowfall in the area, with some places getting up to six inches of it.

Safety warnings were issued and some schools even closed.

With all of that going on, not only could Karson have some snow days ahead, but many more opportunities to show love for others through his generous act of service.

We don’t know much else about Karson and what lies ahead for him in his battle with kidney disease. We don’t even know if the neighbors discovered his random act of kindess.

What we do know is that his mom was so impressed and proud of her son’s selflessness, she shared the story with others.

We also know from the video that he is one very determined, hard-working little boy.

His example is one all can learn from and some already do emulate.

In a time of so much hostility abounding, particularly on social media, such a sweet story is a much-needed breath of fresh air.
