AOC Completely Distraught That Her 'Squad' Pals Weren't Allowed in Israel

Share

If you just happened to turn your TV on while Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was on MSNBC’s “Mehdi Hasan Show” on Oct. 23, you might think you were watching a highly scripted reality show on TLC instead.

The conversation, laced with fake outrage and double-sided talk, centered around the “congressional indifference to Palestinian life in Gaza,” which was attributed to the fact that “they’re Arabs, or they’re mostly all Muslims, or they don’t look like us.”

That allegation was made by Mehdi Hasan, a British-American Muslim who, in July, called Elon Musk an enabler of “Nazis, Holocaust deniers, white supremacists.”

Of course, at MSNBC, hatred and persecution of Jewish people are condoned and even sympathized with, depending on what the people doing it “look like,” as Hasan made amply clear in his conversation.

Ocasio-Cortez responded by criticizing the entire House of Representatives for “ignoring and sidelining of Palestinians in the U.S. House of Representatives” before patting herself on the back for sounding “alarm bells” about the “extreme plight and continued human rights violations of the Palestinian people.”

Switching gears, the congresswoman decided to attack Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, “I found it alarming, I found it shocking — I found it shocking — when in 2019 or 2020 in our first term of the House of Representatives, when Prime Minister Netanyahu banned two United States sitting members of Congress from coming to Israel — Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.”

Is AOC an embarrassment to the United States?

“Banned, two members of the United States Congress,” she reiterated, “from entering the country, that my own colleagues did not seem to say or do much of anything. That should be an affront to our entire government and country.”

Ocasio-Cortez was referring to an incident in August 2019 when two fellow members of the far-left “squad” of congressional Democrats — Michigan’s Tlaib and Minnesota’s Omar — were banned from visiting Israel and the Palestinian territories.

The decision was made after the two congresswomen voted against a nonbinding resolution in the House that condemned a call for boycotts, divestment and sanctions in Israel.

Tlaib and Omar both defended the call for the boycott. Tlaib also accused Israel of “racist policies.”

In a social media post at the time, then-President Donald Trump urged Israel to block their visit, saying it would show “weakness” to allow them entry.

Israel has a law that prohibits visits by individuals who support the anti-Israel BDS movement.

Given what we know now about the two congresswomen’s extreme stance on Israel even in the face of the depravity that was committed against its people by Hamas terrorists, it’s astounding the AOC would choose to bring up the ban.

After Israel experienced the most brutal attack in its modern-day existence as a nation, Tlaib riled up a crowd of pro-Palestinian supporters with lies about Israel bombing “a hospital where children” were, even after President Joe Biden confirmed that the strike on a Gaza hospital did not come from the Israeli side.

Omar also reiterated the false claims, posting, “Bombing a hospital is among the gravest of war crimes. The IDF reportedly blowing up one of the few places the injured and wounded can seek medical treatment and shelter during a war is horrific.@POTUS needs to push for an immediate ceasefire to end this slaughter.”

She did later backpedal, saying in a follow-up post, “Our office cited an AP report yesterday that the IDF had hit a Baptist hospital in Gaza. Since then, the IDF denied responsibility and the US intelligence assessment is that this was not done by Israel.”

“It is a reminder that information is often unreliable and disputed in the fog of war (especially on Twitter where misinformation is rampant). We all have a responsibility to ensure information we are sharing is from credible sources and to acknowledge as new reports come in,” Omar added.

Tlaib has not retracted her statement.

Both congresswomen continue to make statements denouncing Israel’s retaliation against Hamas and those who refuse to condemn it.

The United States has frequently banned leaders of adversarial nations from visiting our country.

For example, in 2019, Trump banned Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, from traveling to the United States or making any financial transactions with U.S. companies, according to MSNBC.

That same year, the United States joined 14 other countries in imposing travel restrictions on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

These were the highest leaders of those nations.

Why shouldn’t Israel ban two freshmen congresswomen who have shown themselves to be blatantly anti-Israel?

AOC, the rest of the squad and their MSNBC spokesmen like Hasan need to stop thinking the world revolves around them and get over themselves.

The First Amendment here in the U.S. guarantees them the freedom to cry racism every five minutes if they so choose. But Israel has no obligation to tolerate it, or them.

It has bigger things to deal with.
