Biden's Pathetic New Debate Strategy Involves Push-Ups, Not Policy

Share

For Democratic front-runner Joe Biden, it’s out with the policy and in with the … push-ups?

During an interview between the former vice president and Mika Brzezinski of “Morning Joe,” Biden made it clear that he would challenge President Donald Trump to a push-up challenge if his age or mental state were attacked.

“I’d say, ‘Come on, Donald, come on, man. How many push-ups do you want to do here, pal?’ You know, jokingly. You know, come on, run with me, man,” Biden said in the Tuesday interview, according to Washington Free Beacon.

Biden is no stranger to acting like the tough guy. Last year, during a University of Miami rally, the 76-year-old Democrat noted that he would “beat the hell out of” Trump for what he said during the “Access Hollywood” hot-mic incident.

“When a guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it,’… they asked me would I like to debate this gentleman, I said no. I said ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,'” Biden said.

In addition, Biden also claimed that — if he were elected president in 2020 and Republicans retained the senate — he would take a “brass knuckle fight” to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, according to The Daily Wire.

“Joy, I know you’re one of the ones who thinks it’s naive to think we have to work together,” Biden said in response to a question posed by MSNBC’s Joy Reid about a potential GOP senate. “The fact of the matter is if we can’t get a consensus, nothing happens except the abuse of power by the executive.”

“There are certain things where it just takes a brass knuckle fight,” the former vice president continued. “Let’s start a real physical revolution if you’re talking about it.”

While Biden likes to talk a big game, let’s be honest — he’s no spring chicken. If elected, he would be 78 years old on inauguration day in 2020, making him the oldest president in U.S. history. He would beat out Ronald Reagan, who was 77 years old when he finished his tenure as president.

Do you think Joe Biden is all talk?

Despite Biden’s initial push-up challenge against Trump, he told Brzezinski that age is a “totally legitimate” issue for Americans to bring up.

“I think age is a totally legitimate thing to raise. I think it’s totally appropriate for people to look at me and say if I were to run for office again, ‘Well, God darn you’re old.’ Well, chronologically I am old,” Biden said.

Biden later said, “Every voter is entitled to know exactly what kind of shape you’re in. You owe it to them. It’s a legitimate question, and so I think age is relevant.”

Trump is obviously looking to take advantage of Biden’s age, as the president has labeled himself a “young, vibrant man” — at 73 years old — and deemed the former vice president “Sleepy Joe.”

Biden seems to be trapped between a growing progressive base in the Democratic Party and the Trump-led GOP. Someone is going to take him down, we just don’t know who or when.

It could be Trump and his plethora of attacks on the former vice president and his baggage, or it may be Sen. Kamala Harris, who already took him to the woodshed during the Democratic primary debates.

Either way, Biden has a tough row to hoe if he wants to secure his party’s nomination and take down Trump in the general election.
