Dana Loesch Has Perfect Response to Anti-Gun Critic's 'Incendiary Lie' About Her

Share

Shannon Watts, the founder of the heavily-astroturfed anti-gun group Moms Demand Action, claims that Dana Loesch of the National Rifle Association is so psychotically obsessed with disrupting gun control that she literally interrupted a meeting of the group to “harass and intimidate volunteers.”

There was only one problem for Watts: Loesch was eating lunch with her family at the time. And she had the photos to prove it.

The whole kerfuffle began when Watts posted a tweet regarding the spokeswoman for the NRA.

Watts claimed that Loesch had “shown up uninvited, with a camera crew, at a church where Texas (Moms Demand Action) volunteers are meeting to discuss gun safety in order to harass and intimidate volunteers. No, really.”

That bizarre scene was made somewhat believable by the fact Loesch is a Texas resident and the NRA had just held its annual meeting in Dallas this week.

Regarding the accusation, however, Loesch said she was out to lunch — literally.

“They lie because they’re incapable of adult discussions on policy,” Loesch said of Watts’ group. “I’ve been with my family all day and am literally finishing lunch right now. I believe I’m owed an apology for this incendiary lie.”

The NRA spokeswoman even offered photographic proof of the meal.

Loesch slammed Watts and her reputation one more time. “Let me know when (Shannon Watts) finds the decency to apologize for outright lying about me,” Loesch wrote.

Victory, I suppose. But Watts wasn’t about to concede defeat, claiming footage of a 2014 incident at the NRA’s annual convention in Indianapolis is proof of Loesch’s confrontational nature.

The tweet linked to a 2014 incident in which Watts was confronted by Loesch. The Moms Demand Action head was quickly whisked into an SUV and drove off.

Do you believe Dana Loesch's side of the story?
The difference, of course, is that this hardly qualifies as “casing” a venue or “harassing” volunteers, merely asking some pointed questions of someone who appears to be in an open-air setting. Watts had previously accused Loesch of being a paid employee of gun accessory company Magpul, according to The Blaze, a claim Loesch vigorously denied.

While we can’t necessarily vouch for Loesch’s whereabouts when Saturday’s tweets were made, it seems unlikely that she and a camera crew would have the time to leave the NRA annual meeting and “case” a church where Moms Demand Action members were meeting.

There’s also the fact the only photographic record of anything in Saturday’s alleged confrontation remains some pancakes and scrambled eggs. In today’s day and age, doesn’t it seem awfully strange that none of the Moms Demand Action members managed to get video of this harassment and/or intimidation?

Until I see that, I remain confident that Loesch was doing nothing more than having a late breakfast with her family.
