Israel Loves Trump So Much, They Are Planning to Name a Town After Him

Share

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he plans to honor President Donald Trump by naming a town after him.

Netanyahu wants to thank Trump for recognizing the Golan Heights as Israel’s territory by naming a town in the disputed lands after the president, according to NBC News.

“I’m here on the beautiful Golan Heights,” Netanyahu said.

“All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

“Therefore, after the Passover holiday, I intend to bring to the government a resolution calling for a new community on the Golan Heights named after President Donald J. Trump.”

In March, Trump became the first American president to recognize the Golan Heights as Israeli territory since Israel took control of the land from Syria in 1967’s Six-Day War.

Israel annexed the land in 1981, though most governments in the world do not recognize it.

Trump’s decision on the Golan Heights is only his most recent move in Israel’s favor.

In December 2017, the Trump administration declared the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. A U.S. Embassy opened in Jerusalem in May.

“After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!” Trump tweeted last month.

Trump’s decision to stand with Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights was a huge move because Syria is still contesting the land over 50 years later.

And Israel’s decision to honor Trump by naming a town after him is proof of Trump’s standing with the United States’ strongest ally in the Middle East.

Even before Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan Heights, he was already dubbed “the most pro-Israel president ever” by Middle East expert Daniel Pipes in February.

Ironically, Trump has been accused by media critics of stoking “anti-Semitism” but that’s clearly a ridiculous charge considering Trump’s friendly relationship with Israel and the fact that his own daughter is a convert to Judaism.

Do you think Trump has improved our relationship with Israel?

In reality, the strongest opponents of Israel and the most rabid anti-Semites are elected representatives in the Democratic Party.

Remember Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s sickening comments about the terrorist attacks of 9/11?

Omar’s comments were made at an event for the Council on American Islamic Relations, an organization with ties to terror organizations like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

And those comments were made just a few months after Omar tweeted anti-Semitic stereotypes about American lawmakers supporting Israel.

While Democrats are grappling with anti-Semitism in their party, Israel is planning to give Trump a prestigious honor.
