Trump Stands Strong on Border, Poll Numbers Hit Record High

Share

Despite the incessant scrutiny from the establishment media regarding the Trump Administration’s “zero tolerance” policy for illegal immigration, President Donald Trump is enjoying his highest approval ratings since taking office.

A Monday Gallup poll revealed that 45 percent of Americans approve of the president, a 3 percent rise since June 10, while 50 percent disapprove.

Tying with his highest approval rating with Gallup to date, it’s become clear that nothing will stand in Trump’s way.

The president has continued to stand his ground when it comes to border security and immigration, and when looking at the climbing numbers, it’s easy to see the American people approve.

The Trump Administration’s “zero tolerance” policy has caused outrage in recent weeks as the number of children separated from their families continues to climb.

Current laws allow children in the country illegally to be detained for a maximum of 20 days.

According to Fox News, an executive order signed on Wednesday by the president would allow children to remain with their parents for an indefinite period of time while they await prosecution for illegally crossing the border.

“Ivanka feels very strongly. My wife feels very strongly about it. I feel strongly about it,” Trump said. “I think anybody with a heart would feel strongly about it. We don’t like to see families separated.”

“So we’re going to have strong, very strong borders, but we’re going to keep the families together,” Trump said as he signed the orders. “I didn’t like the sight or the feeling of families being separated.”

While the establishment media claims the order is a sign of his “retreat,” President Trump is standing strong when it comes to cracking down on prosecuting border-crossing offenses.

“The United States will not be a migrant camp and it will not be a refugee holding facility — it won’t be,” Trump said Monday. “Not on my watch.”

It’s still unclear if the order is enough to stop the public outcry over the Trump administration taking border security seriously, but it’s clear America’s safety is still the number-one priority.
