Watch: Pro-Choice Pa. Rep. Gives New Meaning to Word 'Hypocrite' in Confrontation with Innocent Pro-Life Woman
A Democratic state representative just proved that he is the physical embodiment of the word “hypocrite” and once again revealed that, despite claims to the contrary, his party is most certainly not the party of tolerance, inclusiveness and love — especially with regard to white Christians who oppose abortion.
As The Washington Free Beacon reported, Democratic Pennsylvania state Rep. Brian Sims, who represents a district in Center City Philadelphia, spent nearly 10 minutes berating and harassing an older woman standing silently in protest and praying outside of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic — and actually livestreamed himself doing it on the social media platform Periscope, accidentally exposing his own sanctimonious hypocrisy for all to see.
Sims approached the woman on the sidewalk with cellphone camera in hand and attempted to expose the woman’s face, even as she studiously and repeatedly attempted to avoid him by turning her back and walking away throughout the entire ordeal.
Meanwhile, Sims urged his followers and supporters to make donations to Planned Parenthood to spite the protesting woman.
Sims sarcastically asked the woman, “How many children have you clothed today? How many children have you put shoes on their feet today? Have you fed any children today, or have you just stood out in front of a Planned Parenthood, shaming people for something that they have a constitutional right to do?”

“If you are here about the children, you can pray at home for children. Probably the same place that you could feed a child. But you’re not. Instead you are out here shaming people for something that they have a constitutional right to do,” Sims continued, following the woman back and forth along the sidewalk.
Except, that is exactly what Sims himself was rather hypocritically doing — attempting to shame the woman for exercising her constitutional right to silently protest and pray on a public sidewalk.
“Who would have thought that an old white lady would be standing out in front of Planned Parenthood telling people what’s right for their bodies?” Sims said.
“Shame on you. Shame on you for hiding your face while you’re shaming other people.”
Yet, it was he — a young white male — who was hypocritically telling the older white woman what she can and can’t do with her own body, namely stand on a public sidewalk and silently pray in protest against Planned Parenthood.
Sims claimed on more than one occasion that the same laws that protected the woman’s right to protest on the sidewalk also protected his right to counter-protest and even record her. Sims said, “Again, the same laws that protect me, protect you, and that’s OK. You’re allowed to be out here, but that doesn’t mean that you have a moral right to be out here.”
But he may have been in error there about the laws protecting his activity, according to Townhall, as Pennsylvania is a two-party consent state which requires an affirmative consent from both parties involved in a conversation for it to be recorded — even in a public setting. And the woman most certainly had not granted her consent for Sims to make a video of her with his cell phone.
Furthermore, PJ Media reported that Sims may very well have violated a Pennsylvania statute against criminal harassment, which states:
“A person commits the crime of harassment when, with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another, the person: … (2) follows the other person in or about a public place or places.” That’s exactly what Sims did to the older woman for more than eight minutes.
On numerous occasions throughout the confrontation, Sims chastised the woman as being “wrong” and “disgusting” for what she was doing, he accused her of being “racist” for opposing abortion, and said some version of “shame on you” countless times.
Throughout his hypocritical diatribe against the woman, Sims also attacked her Christian faith in several instances and made disparaging remarks about the Catholic Church as the woman silently prayed with her rosary beads.
Sims also attacked Christianity again in a tweet following the incident, and wrote in response to Live Action’s sharing of his own video, “Bring it, Bible Bullies! You are bigots, sexists, and misogynists and I see right through your fake morals and your broken values. #BeReal”
This man is an elected official that is supposed to represent all of the people of his district, city and state — not just those who hold similar ideological and political views as his own. Yet there he was, launching a bigoted, sexist and misogynistic attack against an older woman who held views different from his own.
If there is anybody in this incident who should feel ashamed, it is the grotesquely hypocritical and self-righteous state representative who berated, harassed and “shamed” a woman peacefully protesting and praying on behalf of the right to life of the unborn.
