Former NFL Pro Bowler arrested on burglary charge
Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II was arrested Thursday not far from San Diego on charges of suspicion of burglary.
The former Pro Bowler, who played for four teams from 2004 to 2013, was booked on the burglary charge after leaving a residence in Encinitas, California.
“At approximately 2:39 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a possible residential burglary at the Park Encinitas Mobile Home Park, located at 444 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas,” reported KUSI-TV in San Diego.

Someone reported seeing a man walking into a neighbor’s residence who was not recognized as the man who lived there.
The neighbor confronted the man, who proceeded to leave the residence and drive away in a black SUV, KUSI reported.
Police located the vehicle that fit the description a short time later and pulled it over. The man in the SUV was positively identified as the man who had been in the residence, who turned out to be Winslow, police said.
Winslow, 34, was charged with one count of first-degree burglary, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
He was being held on $50,000 bail, which he posted, according to TMZ.

Winslow, the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow, played 10 seasons in the NFL.
The All-American out of the University of Miami was drafted with the sixth overall pick by the Browns in the 2004 NFL draft.
Winslow played five seasons in Cleveland, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2007 with 82 catches for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns. In 2006, he had 89 receptions for 875 yards.
He moved on to play three productive seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Patriots in 2012, where he played very little.
In 2013, Winslow signed with the Jets, playing one season before retiring. He was suspended four games that season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
In early 2014, Winslow was arrested on possession of synthetic marijuana in East Hanover, New Jersey.
