James Woods Digs Up Devastating Bloomberg Photo, Buries 'Fuel Conservation' Outcry

It’s a new year, and a new Twitter post from actor James Woods is getting attention for taking decisive aim at the establishment media.

His powerful New Year’s Eve tweet was also a twofer, hitting at media mogul and potential 2020 candidate Michael Bloomberg.

And the picture said it all — Bloomberg alighting from a private jet, an experience few Americans will ever have, but one that’s routine for the billionaire class.

Woods’ point about Bloomberg’s hypocrisy is valid. Virtually every moment during the businessman and former New York City mayor’s appearance on  “Meet the Press” on Sunday was spent talking about climate change and energy.

In the meantime, he travels by private jet. Bloomberg and his green energy buddies might make a lot of noise in the media about energy conservation and lowering human impact on the environment, but it’s tough to think of a mode of travel that uses more fuel and is less friendly to the environment.

Do you think Michael Bloomberg is a hypocrite?

A 2013 “news analysis” from The New York Times provides a clue as to how much of a carbon footprint air travel creates.

“One round-trip flight from New York to Europe or to San Francisco creates a warming effect equivalent to 2 or 3 tons of carbon dioxide per person. The average American generates about 19 tons of carbon dioxide a year; the average European, 10.

“So if you take five long flights a year, they may well account for three-quarters of the emissions you create.”

A private jet may differ from a commercial jet, and in the years since the article was published, the numbers may have improved. But there’s no denying Bloomberg’s life choices aren’t exactly as green as the choices climate change activists want to force on the rest of us.

This is far from the first time Woods has launched a knock-out blow against the establishment media. He’s hit at CNN for poor journalism:

He’s also taken on CNN’s Jim Acosta, specifically, for complaining about the media being called the “enemy of the people.” Woods made a point that other have made about the statement being directed at the purveyors of biased or “fake news,” not honest practitioners of the Fourth Estate.

Woods’ Bloomberg tweet is not the first time he’s pointed out raging hypocrisy, either. One of his targets was outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake:

And when Nike opted to highly promote cop-protester Colin Kaepernick with its brand, Woods called the company out, as well. The video he linked to gives powerful insight into what life can be like for the police.

Woods is well-known for his wit and commonsense approach.

While some may view him as being a bit brash, when the wildfires were devastating California in 2018, he dedicated his Twitter account to helping families connect with missing loved ones, and to helping the affected locate resources for aid.

But when it comes to the hypocrisies of the establishment media, and their heroes on the left, Woods can be merciless.
