Little Boy Won't Let Go After Military Daddy Emerges from Giant Christmas Present

Share

A little boy’s heartwarming reaction to his military father coming home just before Christmas is moving the internet to tears.

There’s no place like home for the holidays, especially for military parents who haven’t seen their kids in a long time.

This season, we’ve seen some pretty adorable parent-child reunions, like one Army captain who FaceTimed his daughter at home while standing in front of the family Christmas tree.

Sobbing in disbelief and an excited hopefulness, the little girl raced from her bedroom to the living room to find her dad standing there, waiting for a huge hug.

The little boy in this video was over the moon with excitement when his military father came home for Christmas, too.

Twitter user Jadin Hart posted the video of her nephew standing in front of a massive present, which he got to open 10 days early.

Hart said her nephew had only asked for one thing for Christmas — for his dad to come home.

Staring at the gift with anticipation, the boy began to unwrap the paper — very slowly.

It was like he was trying to savor the moment, enjoying his time slowly peeling back the carefully wrapped paper.

When the gift was unwrapped, he stared into the box, wondering what was inside.

A burst of tissue paper flew out of the box, followed by a large man wearing a military uniform.

As dad emerged from the box, the little boy was simply stunned. He wrapped his arms around his father and began to hug.

And hug.

And hug.

And keep on hugging.

Dad gently rubbed his boy’s back as the two of them soaked in the moment.

Dad was home for Christmas, the best gift this little boy possibly could have unwrapped.

The video has been viewed well over 8 million times, leaving complete strangers wiping away tears and reminded that it’s the people, not things, that matter most this Christmas season.
