Disturbing Police Report: NFL Player Wanted His Dead Father's Head Cut Off

Share

A a very bizarre story has take an even stranger turn.

Former All-Pro guard Richie Incognito, who retired at the end of last season after 12 years in the NFL, was arrested after he allegedly made a scene — including violent threats — at a funeral home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

While making funeral arrangements for his father, who died earlier in the week, Incognito flipped out. He yelled at staff, said he would trash the place and threatened to get guns from his vehicle and shoot the employees, police said.

He apparently wanted access to the proceedings and to his father’s body, CBS Sports reported.

Police were called to the scene and Incognito was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and making threats, both misdemeanors.

The former Buffalo Bill was released after posting bail.

Now comes a new report on that bizarre scene inside the funeral home from the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle in New York.

“According to a copy of the arrest report, Employees of Messingers Pinnacle Peak Mortuary told Scottsdale police that the former Pro Bowler said he wanted his father’s head cut off for research purposes and that he walked through the funeral home punching caskets and throwing things,” the outlet reported.

An employee at the funeral home told police the workers were “very afraid” of Incognito, according to the Democrat & Chronicle.

“He made a gesture and said he was going to kill somebody here and said he had guns in his truck,” the employee said. “We are just very afraid right now.”

Then, after Incognito signed cremation papers, he changed his mind and wanted his father buried, so he asked to view more casket options.

“After being shown a military casket, Incognito indicated he wanted it, but then he picked up an urn and slammed it on top of the casket,” the Democrat & Chronicle reported.

He also reportedly was throwing pamphlets and patches from inside the casket.
