Heavy Couple Knows They Need to Make Serious Life Change. Transformation Picture Inspires Millions

Share

We all know how difficult weight loss can be. With both physical and emotional hurdles to jump over, we recognize how monumental it is when someone is able to turn their life down a healthier path.

A couple from New Haute, Indiana has not only overcome those hurdles but also inspired millions in the process. Before committing to a simple 30-day goal in January of 2016, Lexi and Danny Reed weighed 785 pounds combined.

Just two years later they have lost over 400 pounds and the results are amazing! Just before January 2016, one of Lexi’s best friends challenged her and Danny to spend the next 30 days with no cheat meals, eating out, or alcohol. The couple committed and started taking baby steps.

They began cooking at home, reading labels and counting calories. They found healthy alternatives to favorites meals and even started working out! In the beginning, Lexi used the elliptical for 30 minutes, five days a week.

Making simple switches like going to the gym instead of sitting on the couch or eating lean meats instead of fried foods provided big results. Within one month, Lexi had lost over 20 pounds!

Danny and Lexi kept each other accountable and because of that, their relationship even improved.

Lexi said, “Before we lost weight we weren’t talking, we were just watching TV. Then we started going on walks, being active, hiking, riding bikes — all these activities that we weren’t able to do when we were living on our couch.”

What’s truly amazing about Lexi and Danny’s transformation is that they didn’t get surgery, hire a personal trainer, or use a diet pill. Their success was based on small, intentional changes every day.

1. “Make small changes and they’ll add up to big results.” She suggests making a commitment similar to the one she and Danny made in 2016: no eating out for a month.

2. “Set goals.” She stresses the importance of setting achievable goals and rewarding yourself once you’ve reached them.

3. “Take progress pictures!” She reminds us that progress isn’t always seen on the scale.

#motivationmonday to 485lbs & @discoveringdanny proposing to me at sunset on Clearwater Beach. He never saw me as my size, asked me to change, or made me feel as anything other than beautiful. He treated me the same way at 485lbs that he does at 182lbs. Love doesn’t have a size or weight limit. He saw the person I was on the inside and supported me while I made that person on the side match my outside. Surround yourself with those who lift you higher and see the greatness in you even when you dont see it yourself! ❤ #weightloss #weightlossjourney #fatgirlfedupdietbet #love #florida #clearwaterbeach #sunset #fitspire #fitcouple #relationshipgoals #couplegoals #fattofit #obesetobeast #beastmode #fitfam #fitspo #inspire #motivation #fitnessmotivation #gym #wedding #engagement #transform #fitspo #diet #extremeweightloss #transformation

4. “Meal Prep.” Meal prepping helps you control what you’re eating and how much you’re eating.

Life looks much different for the couple now that they make healthier choices. They are able to walk down the beach, ride roller coasters, and canoe. Lexi told People, “It’s not about the weight that we lost but the life we gained.”
