Couple Goes to Goodwill with $10 Budget. Outfits They Buy for Date Night Leave Internet Roaring

Share

Shane and Noel Pauley have an adorable baby girl. They soon realized out how easy it was to completely focus on her and not their marriage.

They wanted to put their marriage first, so they planned to have a date night once a week. Shane had a creative date night idea inspired by another couple.

Shane and Noel would each get $10. Then, they would go to Goodwill to pick out outfits for each other with that budget.

The stranger and more outdated the outfit the better! It took only $13 for Shane and Noel to find both outfits.

When Noel walked out of the dressing room in her final outfit choice, Shane made a comment that only added to the fun. He said, “Ethel, get your choir book and come on.”

Noel would be Ethel for the rest of date night. She picked out Shane’s new name which would be Rodger.

Noel explained, “Once you leave Goodwill, it’s like fight club, no one talks about it. We had to resume date night as normal and pretend like we had no idea our outfits were off the wall.”

Nobody directly commented on their outrageous outfits when they ate at LongHorn Steakhouse. They received plenty of stares and snickers, though.

Shane and Noel hadn’t laughed as much as they did on this Goodwill date night in a long time. After their date idea went viral with the internet roaring in laughter, Noel received a message from their server.

The server wanted to let the couple know how sweet and funny their date night seemed. She wanted to try out the same idea with her own “other half.”

Shane and Noel have been called “goals” in regards to their relationship. Noel has humbly explained that the only reason they have a great marriage is because they have learned to love through Jesus Christ’s example.
