It took middleweight MMA fighter Timothy Woods just 83 seconds to finish his bout with Tim Caron at CES MMA 48 on Friday night.
Unfortunately for Woods, he knocked himself out.

Caron and Woods were grappling against the Cage when it appeared, for a brief moment, that Woods was about to gain the upper hand.
Woods tried to sweep Caron’s leg and slam him to the ground, but got the short end of the stick when he landed headfirst against the mat, rendering him unconscious.

When Caron realized his opponent was defenseless, he got in a few shots for good measure, but the referee quickly stepped in and stopped the fight.

Woods remained on the mat for several minutes and was carried off on a stretcher, but according to the MMA site Sherdog.com, he was responsive and moving his extremities.

Nicknamed “the Good Solider,” Woods now owns a 7-6 overall record after the defeat. He has now lost two straight and three of his last four fights.
While the win will go down for Caron as a first-round KO, most fans will remember it for what it was: a scary self-inflicted knockout.
He can take some comfort in the fact that he’s not the first to do it.

Hopefully Woods will be able to recover and get a chance to redeem himself back in the Octagon.
