Pentagon Just Told Pelosi's Congress It's Transferring $1 Billion To Build Huge New Fence Section

It has been a catastrophic week for Democrats.

First, the Russian probe of Robert Mueller finally concluded, and it turns out that President Donald Trump is not a Russian sleeper cell. Then, hotshot leftist lawyer Michael Avenatti was arrested over an extortion charge.

Even the liberal utopia of Chicago is practically tearing itself apart after the fallout of Jussie Smollett being cleared of 16 felony charges.

And now, they’ve been delivered what could be the most devastating blow of all.

Late Monday, the Pentagon told Congress that it has allocated $1 billion for construction of a wall on the United States southern border.

According to CNN, the money will go toward the building of an 18-foot-tall fence. The Army Corps of Engineers has been instructed to begin the planning and construction of the structure.

Democrats were not happy.

Every single Democratic member of the Senate Appropriations Committee’s subcommittees on Defense and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies objected to the transfer, all signing a letter to Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan voicing their disapproval.

“The $1 billion reprogramming that the Department is implementing without congressional approval constitutes a dollar-for-dollar theft from other readiness needs of our Armed Forces,” the letter reads.

If it’s national security these Democrats are worried about, maybe they should drill down on the true cost of what comes across our southern border.

Overdoses on drugs, including hard opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, accounted for more than 70,000 deaths in 2017 alone, according to government statistics. This is nearly twice the number of deaths attributed to Democrats’ favorite boogeyman: firearms.

Many of these hard drugs are simply walked across the border, causing a pipeline effect that kills American citizens while lining the pockets of ultra-violent cartels.

Despite this, Democrats have been beyond obstinate on the hardening of the southern border.

Are you pleased the Pentagon is allocating $1 billion for a border barrier?

Some have called a border wall “medieval,” insisting it won’t work to do anything but harm immigrant families. With no clear reasoning besides appealing to the emotions of their constituents, Democrats may have done incalculable harm to our nation in stalling the wall.

With the Pentagon’s transfer of funds, the wall is taking one step closer to becoming a reality. Since it was a major platform for Trump’s 2016 campaign, every bit of border fencing helps his chances in 2020.

Thankfully, the Department of Defense is taking the initiative. And true to form, proving they are committed to the safety of the nation from ALL threats, both foreign and domestic.
