Planned Parenthood Accidentally Tweets Pro-Life Story

Share

The Maryland branch of Planned Parenthood reportedly posted a since-deleted tweet this week that contradicted everything the baby-butchering non-profit has ever claimed, including the theory that unborn babies are just “clumps of cells.”

The branch specifically linked to a report from The New York Times with a headline that read, “After Surgery in the Womb, a Baby Kicks Up Hope.”

The report covers the recent birth of a baby boy who was diagnosed with spina bifida about 13 weeks into his mother’s pregnancy.

“The condition leaves the spine open with nerves exposed, and they sustain damage that can leave a child incontinent and unable to walk,” the Times notes. “The opening leaks spinal fluid, and the base of the brain can sink into the spinal column and be harmed by pressure.”

In an earlier report, the Times described how, instead of aborting their baby as recommended by their doctors, mother Lesi Royer, 28, and her husband, Joshuwa, 29, chose last year to try an experimental surgery that wouldn’t cure the disease but rather “lessen the degree of disability.”

Long story short, the surgery worked, and the baby wound up being born Jan. 12 in much better condition than originally expected: “The infant’s back, which previously had the biggest defect the surgeons had ever repaired, now showed barely a hint of it.”

Let’s quickly recap what happened: the Royers discovered that their unborn baby had spina bifida. Their doctors tried to encourage them to abort their son. They instead chose surgery. And the baby wound up being born last week in a much-improved condition.

Now why on earth would Planned Parenthood share this story? It is, for all intents and purposes, a repudiation of everything for which the organization stands.

“Planned Parenthood’s literature and actions demonstrate that they would have viewed 13-weeks-gestation or 24-weeks-gestation Baby Boy Royer as, at best, a clump of cells, or, at worst, a potential gold mine of late-term baby organs to sell,” notes Jennifer Van Laar of RedState.

Do you think Planned Parenthood's tweet was a mistake?

Was it just a mistake by whoever runs Planned Parenthood Maryland’s Twitter account?

The last tweet was a real doozy. Planned Parenthood does promote the murder of unborn babies, particularly those with conditions they find unappealing, such as Down Syndrome and spina bifida.

So again, why did Planned Parenthood link to the Times’ story? Was it just an honest mistake, or temporary sanity? Either way, we’re happy to see that Planned Parenthood crossed over from the dark side, if only for a few minutes.
