ASU's N'Keal Harry May Have Made the Catch of the Year, and Maybe the Best Catch Ever

Share

Many college football fans on the East Coast often lament the start times of games on the West Coast, particularly those in the Pac-12.

#Pac12AfterDark is a trending hashtag every Saturday night during football season, but those fans can’t complain about missing what happened in the Arizona State-USC game on Saturday afternoon.

Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry pulled off one of the greatest catches you will ever see and had some saying it was the greatest catch they’ve ever seen.

Harry contorted his body to make a one-handed catch with his body parallel to the ground. He also managed to stay in bounds, completing what would be a reception in college ball, the NFL or any pro football league imaginable.

Harry was even interfered with on the play, but the defender still became a part of the highlight reel.

Is Harry's catch the best you've ever seen?

“There really wasn’t too much going through my mind,” Harry said of the catch. “The only way I could even get to that ball was one hand stretching out and I just happened to come down with the ball.”

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd was one of many who proclaimed it, perhaps, the best catch he’s ever seen.

When someone brought up DeAndre Hopkins’ catch that didn’t happen from two nights earlier, Cowherd responded that Harry’s catch was in that same class.

That play was just part of the show that Harry put on during the Sun Devils’ 38-35 win over USC.

He also had a 44-yard touchdown reception in the first half in addition to a second touchdown on special teams that was more than twice as long as the first one.

Late in the third quarter, Harry fielded a punt near the sideline at ASU’s 8-yard line, cut across the field and circled back another five yards before turning on the jets and outrunning the entire Trojans coverage unit down the opposite sideline and into the end zone.

While Arizona State is not one of the nation’s high-profile teams, Harry has long been making a name for himself as one of the best receivers in the country. Fans around the country who weren’t familiar with him before Saturday are certainly going to be talking about him now.

If he decides to leave school after his junior season, Harry is expected to be one of the top picks in the upcoming NFL draft.
