Tiger Woods accomplished something he hasn't done in 3 years after insane birdie putt

Share

Tiger Woods’ latest comeback attempt has had its highs and lows, with fans watching closely for any sign that he might return to form as one of the best in the world.

Golf is just more interesting to watch when Tiger is a factor.

But in his three previous starts since his back fusion surgery, Woods’ best finish was a share of 12th place at the Honda Classic two weeks ago.

On Friday, Woods gave his fans hope that he might be able to rejoin the ranks of golf’s greats.

With his 12-foot birdie putt on the second hole of the Valspar Championship, he found himself tied for first at 4-under with Jimmy Walker and Corey Conners.

It was the first time Tiger had been atop the leaderboard of a PGA Tour event since August 2015.

The news brought an overwhelming reaction on social media.

The phrase “broke the internet” is thrown around a lot, but Woods’ move to the top drew so much attention it shut down the PGA Tour’s live streaming app.

Things got even more intense when Woods became the solo leader.

Tiger finished the second round at Innisbrook as co-leader.

Here’s hoping the internet will be ready if he somehow manages to stay there through the weekend.
