Couple Blown Away After Finding Out Their Dinner Tab Was Paid For by NFL Coach

Share

If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of a surprise free meal, you know how good it feels to have your heart filled with human kindness. Sometimes, you never find out who paid your bill, and other times, you have a pretty good idea who to thank.

Either way, the gesture can go a long way to restore one’s faith in humanity. In this instance, two local diners were happily won over into the football family when their dinner was paid for by an NFL coach.

NFL Steelers coach Mike Tomlin gained a couple new fans after showing a little local love to Louisville, KY restaurant customers.

Tomlin was in town for a scouting trip at the local University of Louisville, sizing up potential athletes.

On March 30, Tomlin was part of a dinner party that headed to local restaurant Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar.

According to CBS Sports, former Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was likely part of Tomlin’s dining group.

“So Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin stopped by Doc Crow’s last night while he’s in town for UofL’s pro day,” a jazzed Doc Crow’s posted online. “And as if that wasn’t cool enough, he picked up the tab for the dinner next to him!”

According to Doc Crow’s, the couple dining near Tomlin’s party asked for their check. Before they could pay, Tomlin swooped in with a kind gesture and picked up their tab.

Customer Keisha Moore was one of the excited recipients of Tomlin’s gesture. She may not have been a Steelers football fan before, but she was about to join the Steeler Nation.

“Towards the end of dinner babe asks the waiter for the check and this is what the waiter brings back,” Moore wrote online. On a clipboard was a hand-written note with the surprising news.

“The table next to you paid for your meal,” the waiter wrote, placing the blank ticket on the couple’s table. “Give them a thanks!”

Moore offered up a huge thanks to Tomlin, writing, “That was good looking.” Then Moore admitted she’d been converted, saying, “I’m officially a Steelers fan.”
