It's So Cold That Bored Amish Are Cutting Donuts in Horse-Drawn Buggies

Share

What do you do when you are bored and your part of the country is recovering from a winter storm that left almost everything frozen?

Take to empty parking lots and do donuts, of course.

Most people think of cars when they think about doing donuts, but others take a more creative approach: donuts in a horse-drawn buggy.

A video captured by Kortney Steury showed how some people, presumably Amish, have wintry weather fun in more unconventional ways.

Take a look:

That actually looks like a good time.

The video was reportedly recorded in Grabill, Indiana, on Jan. 13.

Believe it or not, that was not the first time someone driving a horse-drawn buggy was caught on video having some fun in the snow.

Would you ride a horse-drawn buggy in the snow?

One man took things one step further and skied behind his horse-drawn cart in 2010.

Now that is what you call an inventive way to spend an afternoon.

Below is another video that captured someone skiing behind a horse-drawn buggy in upstate New York earlier this year.

Can it really be as easy as these guys make it look? Because they sure do make it look like it’s a piece of cake.

Winter has been tough this year, but these videos prove that even when conditions outside are rough, you can still find something fun to do.

Take it from the Amish. They may not enjoy some of the technological advancements of modern society, but that doesn’t mean they live boring lives.

Just remember to be safe out there if you are in a part of the country where winter is bearing down and you decide to take part in wintry activities.

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about this creative way to have fun on the snow.
