Dad Can't Keep Up with Kids, So He Goes on Weight Loss Journey and Loses 92 Lbs
It should have been a fun day of outdoor adventure for Jeremiah Peterson and his kids, but instead, Peterson felt defeated by his out-of-control weight which was rising close to 300 pounds.
Peterson, from Missoula, Montana, is a 40-year-old husband and father who once enjoyed a youth of athletics and weight lifting before his weight began to creep up on him.
When he realized he could not keep up with his children during a hike, it was like a switch flipped inside Peterson’s brain.
“Instead of remembering all the good memories we had made on this trip all I can remember is this one thing that kept playing in my head over and over again,” Peterson wrote on his Instagram account.
“I found myself running out of breath and having to take breaks way before my 9, 7, and 6-year-old kids.”
Peterson made a life-changing decision that day to take control of his health before his health had control of him.
He lost 92 pounds in just six months, pouring his heart and soul into getting healthy, setting goals and doing the hard work.
Peterson followed a strict keto diet and hiked two hours a day in addition to spending another hour in the gym.
He used to wear a size 42 pair of jeans and now is down to a size 33.
Now, Peterson is a personal fitness coach, wanting to pass his hard-learned lessons onto others who are struggling.
According to his Instagram account, The Keto Fitness Coach, Peterson holds a degree in nutrition and exercise science.
His credentials as someone who used to be overweight make him the perfect candidate to walk alongside those struggling in the same way.
Peterson shared that he is motivated day after day by his wife and children, the people who inspire him to be the best version of himself that he can possibly be.
“My family has and always will be my why,” Peterson wrote. “Finding your reason why is essential if you want to achieve success in life.”
Peterson uses his website as another platform to share his story and encourage others to change their lives, too.
“I know, in my heart, that if I can do it, so can you,” he wrote.
