Meghan Markle Used to Have a Blog. Reveals Diet Tips "Fit for a Princess"

Share

Actress Meghan Markle is more than the newest royal-to-be. After announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the search was on to discover more about the future princess.

It turns out that Markle is a foodie. Her love for cooking took shape in the strangest place.

While hanging out on the set  of “Married With Children” with her father, she began to help with food preparation and her love for cooking began.

So how does this princess eat? It was all in her lifestyle blog, The Tig, now off the web, due to her new status change as a royal.

It’s not surprising that Markle eats healthy and clean, especially when she’s on set of her TV show “Suits.” She tries to cut out gluten and replaces coffee with green juice.

But when she isn’t shooting the show, all bets are off in the diet arena. Markle is not afraid of carbs and never turns down an opportunity to try a new pasta dish.

Her guilty pleasure? French fries. “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me,” said Markle.

A typical day of healthy eating includes; hot water with lemon, steel cut oats, an apple with almond butter, pasta and, yes, red wine.

Along with her love for Prince Harry, Markle also has a real romance with tacos, fish tacos being her favorite.

She takes her love of food on vacation and says, “I come back from vacation every year with a food baby, and I’ve named her Comida. I get to the set and I’m like, ‘hey, Comida’s here, and she’s kicking.’

Then it’s back to her healthy eating, shedding the pounds for the camera. But Markle shared some of her foodie secrets on her blog.

Slow cooking zucchini until it dissolves and adds a creamy texture to sauces was one of her favorite shares.

Though Markle tries to stick with her regular meal of fish and veggies, she also listens to how her body feels.

“I definitely just try to avoid the things that I know are going to make me feel lethargic or sluggish,” she said.

It’s hard to know if Markle’s eating habits will change once she becomes a real princess. Hopefully, Prince Harry will jump on board the foodie truck.

Sadly, we can’t all be princesses. But if you want to eat like a princess, all you have to do is follow Markle’s lead. Eat healthy foods with lean proteins and plenty of vegetables, while indulging once in a while.
