Preschoolers Sing 'God Bless the USA' After Deployed Air Force Dad Surprises Daughter

Share

Florida preschool students celebrated the surprise return of a classmate’s deployed Air Force father by singing “God Bless the U.S.A.”

It’s been a joyful start to 2019 for 4-year-old Talia, a preschool student at the Primrose School of South Tampa.

While Talia was safe and sound with her preschool family, her father was away at work, serving in the United States Air Force.

The school must have had an inkling that Talia’s dad would be coming home soon because they went all out to welcome the Airman home with a song they’d likely been practicing for some time.

Talia didn’t know the exact day her dad was coming home, but her smile lit up the room when she first saw his face.

“We had one happy little girl today as we welcomed her Dad home from deployment who serves in the United States Air Force,” school staff wrote on their Facebook page. “Thank you for your service!”

The video clip shows the moment Talia’s father walked into the classroom wearing his uniform.

The happy chatter of children playing was soon replaced with an adorably excited squeal from the little girl who immediately recognized her dad.

She yelled, “Daddy!” and raced across the room, running straight into his arms.

The Airman scooped up his little girl and gave her a long overdue hug. It was the embrace that everyone had been waiting for.

Once daughter and dad were settled, the preschool students proudly performed their rendition of “God Bless the U.S.A.,” made famous by country music artist Lee Greenwood.

The group of students proved that you’re never too young to learn about patriotism as they belted out the famous chorus about American pride.

Viewers are loving the video, appreciating that teachers and staff took the time to teach the song to their students.

Military homecoming videos have a way of triggering a sudden onset of tears, and this one is no different.

Viewers found themselves wiping tears from their eyes as they witnessed the beautiful display of love between father and daughter.

“Little sugar cake didn’t want to let go,” one viewer wrote. “Always love that.”
